If you have x-rays that were emailed or scanned into your computer we can now import them straight into Dentiray Web using the Import function.
The x-rays need to be saved to your computer so if they were emailed to you, you’ll want to go ahead and save those attachments to a folder on your computer.
For questions on how to save attachments from your email, you’ll want to speak with your IT provider
In Denticon, with your patient selected, select the “Launch Third Party Application” button.
If the patient has existing X-rays
- You will see the black Dentiray Web background with the patients images along the left hand side of the screen. On the far right side of the screen, select Import.
If the patient does not have existing X-rays
- You will see the white Patient Search Screen with the selected patient’s information already pre-populated. Select the Import button.
- Select Patient Images
That will bring you to the Import Images Screen
There are three fields to consider. Layout, Modality, and Date.
Layout = If you have 4 individual Bitewings and want them to appear in a layout, you can select that. If you are importing a single file that shows all 4 bitewings in one image, do not select a layout.
Modality = Device used to acquire the image.
IO = Intra Oral – standard Bitewings or PA’s or IO camera images
PX = Panoramic
XC = Cephalometric
HC = Hard Copy – Scanned films
Date = Acquisition Date or date the image was taken.
For example, to upload a Panoramic X-ray, we're going to skip the Layout since a single image needs no layout. We're going to set my Modality to PX and we're going to set the acquisition date for the date the image was taken and we're going to click into the box in the middle to add my image.
Next, we are going to browse to the file on my computer that needs to be imported, click on it to select it, and then select Open.
Then when we see the preview of my image (The preview of the image is smaller than the actual image) we're going to finish by selecting Import.
Once the file is successfully uploaded Dentiray Web should report a successful import. Once we see that we can go ahead and click close and then view on the next screen to review the image under my patient.
