We use PlanetDDS Pay, can we save a patient's card to have on file?

Introduction:
Offices integrated with PlanetDDS Pay have the ability to save a credit card on file for future use in Denticon or the Payment Portal.

Process description:
The card on file option will need to be turned on in the account settings. Users can choose to save a card on file will processing a payment, or they can upload it and save it to a responsible party's account. Patients can save their card for future use while making a payment in the Payment Portal as well. 

Prerequisites:
The card on file option will need to be turned on in the account settings. 

The office will also need to have its payment portal set up in order for patients to utilize the save card on file feature in the Payment Portal. 

Step-by-step instructions:

How to activate the card on file feature in Account Settings:

  1. Go to Setup>Account Info>Advanced.
  2. In the section labeled "PlanetDDS Pay", check the box labeled "Card on File"

How to save a card on file from the Transaction Entry Screen:

  1. Go to the Transaction Entry screen. 
  2. Select the option to enter in a credit card payment.
  3. Check the box labeled "Save Card on File". 
  4. Process the payment as usual. 
  5. The card used in the transaction will be save for future use. 

How to use a saved card on file from the Transaction Entry Screen:

  1. Go to the Transaction Entry screen.
  2. Select the option to enter in a credit card payment.
  3. Toggle the switch to use a saved card.
  4. A drop down labeled "Saved Cards" will appear, select the card you'd like to use to process the payment.

How to save a card on file to a Responsible Party:

  1. Search for patient and navigate to the patient overview screen. 
  2. In the Responsible Party section click "Edit" to edit Responsible Party info. 
  3. Click the button to "Edit Saved Payments"
  4. Then click the button to "Add New Payment Method"
  5. Enter in payment details, check the box to make the card the default payment button if necessary, and then press save.
