Issue description:
The Executive Summary excludes the Show AR selection by default and the Aging Report excludes the Include Credit Balance selection by default. When these two reports are run without making any selections, they will not match even when run for the same amount of time.
Signs:
- When you run both reports for the same time frame, the reports' Total A/R do not match.
- You ran both reports with their default settings without making any changes.
Basic troubleshooting steps:
- Reports > Monthly Reports > Executive Summary
- Under 'Other Options' click Show AR > Print/Preview
- Reports > Monthly Reports > Aging Report
- Under 'Aging' click Include Credit Balance > Print/Preview
- The figures for Total A/R should now match
Best Practices:
- Always check that the Executive Summary has been run only one day and that this date is used for the Aging Report's date entry as well.
- Be sure that the Executive Summary includes the "Show AR" checkbox and that the Aging Report includes the "Include Credit Balance" before comparing them.
Advanced troubleshooting steps:
Step 1: Run the Executive Summary
- Select the Reports dropdown menu and select Monthly Reports.
- Executive Summary is selected by default.
- Before the report is run, be sure that the 'Date Range' selection has the same Start Date and End Date.
- Under 'Other Options', check the box for Show AR.
- Press Print/Preview, the Total A/R is now included the end of report.
- Save the report in a safe place for reference. You will need it for comparison in Step 2.5.
Step 2: Run the Executive Summary
- Select the Reports dropdown menu and select Monthly Reports.
- Aging Report can be selected from the report options on the left.
- Before the report is run, be sure that the Report Date selection is the same as the Start Date and End Date from Step 1.3.
- Under 'Aging', check the box for Include Credit Balance.
- Press Print/Preview, the Total A/R at the end of the report should match the balance from the Executive Summary.
- Save the report in a safe place for reference, if desired.
