The letters “CVV” refer to “Card Verification Value." This is an important security feature for credit card transactions.
The CVV is:
· A 3-digit code on the reverse of Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards.
· A 4-digit code on the front of American Express credit cards.
To understand where the CVV is located on cards, click the What is CVV # hyperlink.
NOTE: Any error in the manual entry of the CVV will cause an error message from the TSYS or Open Edge credit card processing company. An example: if a 3-digit code is entered for an American Express transaction, the credit card processing request cannot be honored, and will result in an error message from the TSYS or Open Edge company on the Denticon screen.
Denticon has no control over the TSYS or Open Edge error message as the message is not a Denticon message, rather is a TSYS or Open Edge message. Please communicate directly with TSYS or Open Edge regarding any error message seen during a credit card transaction request.
