When there is not a paperclip icon in the "Patient Notes" screen:
- there is not an electronically signed document for viewing
- the document was only generated to the Adobe Acrobat Reader screen for viewing
- the generated document may have been hard-printed to paper
NOTE: If the document is hard-printed to paper, signed, and separately scanned to the "Patient Notes" screen, the paperclip icon will appear; thus allowing the user to click on the icon for viewing the manually scanned document.
When there is a paperclip icon in the "Patient Notes" screen:
- the user generated the document to the Adobe Acrobat Reader screen for viewing
- an electronic signature was successfully obtained
- the "save to PDF" function was selected so that the signed document would be saved into the "Patient Notes" screen for future viewing via the paperclip icon
