Introduction:
If a user finds that they are locked out of their account, Denticon provides a couple of different ways to regain access to the account.
Process description:
Denticon users will either need to click the "I can't access my account" link and follow the steps, or have someone in the organization that has admin access reset the user's password via the "Change Password" link on the user setup screen.
Prerequisites
A user must have admin rights in order to have the ability to reset passwords.
Step-by-step instructions:
To gain access from the login screen:
- Click the “I can’t access my account” hyperlink
- Select the applicable concern
- By clicking the “Next” button, continue through the screens in order to prove the user’s identity in order to obtain programmed assistance
The password recovery tool will recognize multi PGID usernames. The reset function will be based on the
first PGID’s username and email address.
To have an account administrator reset a password:
- Click the word “Setup”
- Select the “Security” and “Users” options from the dropdown list. A listing of all users appears on the left.
- Highlight the user’s name
- Click the Edit button
- Input a new password
- Click the Save button
Tips and best practices:
- The easiest, fastest way to regain password access is to use the “Use my Secret Question” option. Denticon recommends that all user setups within the “Setup / Security / Change My Password” screen should have a Security Question and Answer input.
-
In our continuing effort to protect your account and data, changes must meet the password policy:
-
Passwords cannot contain the username as part of the password. For example, if your username is rsmith, the password cannot be set to ABCrsmith123.
-
Passwords cannot match any of the five previously used passwords for the username.
-
Password rules and their fulfillment will appear on the right side of the screen.
-
Next steps:
If the user is unable to reset their own password, there is no one in the office with admin rights, or the administrator is locked out, the password will need to be reset by the PGID's Client Success Manager.
Additional information:
When accessing Denticon from a computer running Mac OS, the "I can't access my account" link will not be visible.
If a user's password expires, they will need the assistance of someone in the organization with administrative access to reset their password on their behalf. If the administrator's password expires, the password will need to be reset by the Client Success Manager.
