The basic differences between the two reports should be understood:
Similarly, the collection numbers on the Allocation report cannot be compared to a collection report since payments collected today (aka: deposits) may pay on procedures entered in the past. Additionally, the payment entered today might be an overpayments (aka: pre-payment, or credit), and will not appear on the Allocation report because it has yet to pay a completed procedure.
The production summary in the income allocation report could represent the production that payments allocated to, not the production that was rendered.
- The Production report indicates only the services (aka: procedure codes) which were posted to the Ledger during the report date(s) as completed
- The Allocation report indicates only monies (aka: payments) collected and entered during the report date(s) for which apply to completed procedures which have payment due
