Sometimes, offices prefer a user to generate reports for only a specific provider:
- A specific hygienist should obtain reports for only him/herself
- A specific dental assistant should obtain reports for only a particular assigned provider
- A specific dentist should obtain reports only for him/herself
Denticon’s “My Reports” section allows a user to be restricted to generate reports for only the assigned provider, and for self.
For an organization with multiple providers, the organization may not wish one provider to view a report for another provider’s recorded transactions. In most provider-related reports, the user may select any provider for the report parameters, provided that the user has rights to generate the report:
- Daily reports
- Management reports
- Treatment Plan reports
- Appointment reports
While this is acceptable and normal for most offices, there are some organizations which wish to restrict report access to only the individual provider. The “My Reports” section is designed for this purpose.
If you wish to link an existing user to a specific provider, you must do so in User Setup.
- Click the word “Setup”
- Click the word “Security”
- Select “Users”
- Select the desired user name
- Click the Edit button
- In the field “Report Access Provider,” indicate the user’s assigned provider
- Click the Save button
To ensure the user has access to generate the reports in the “My Reports” section, the user must be assigned the privilege. The security assignment is granted with the security group membership to which the user is assigned.
- Click the word “Setup”
- Click the word “Security”
- Select “Groups”
- Click the + at the office name
- Select the desired security group name
- Click the Edit button
- Ensure the security right “Reports – My Reports – Full Control” appears on the right-side as “Assigned Rights”
- Click the Save button
The user-specific reports in the “My Reports” menu are: Reports / My Reports
- Daily Journal by User – Detail
- Daily Journal by User(created date) – Detail
- Appointment Detail by User
- Time Clock Report
For the appropriate provider-specific report in the “My Reports” menu, Denticon will print only the information related to the linked provider. If the user has "Report Access Provider" indicated in the user login, the following reports will print for only the linked provider:
- Daily Journal By Provider Detail
- Production By Codes
- Production By Provider
- Production By Category
If there is no provider linked for the user, an error message "You do not have a Corresponding Provider set for your user name. Please see your administrator." will pop up.
