This will be the case with any and all account moves/consolidations, and will also occur if you remove an account from within a responsible party (breaking it out into its own separate account, seen in many cases with divorces or coming of age).
A "Move" adjustment will automatically be applied to move any existing credits or balances to the new ledger.
It is always recommended that a flash alert be added in cases like this where previous information held within an existing-yet-inactive account needs to be accessed.
Note:
When a patient is moved to a new account, the old account is marked as inactive. Also, the ledger history does not copy over to the new account. In this case, Denticon recommends adding a Flash Alert on both accounts for reference. When searching for the old account be sure to include inactive patients.
The Good News is another user submitted a request to our developers to consider copying the ledger over and our team is working on adding this soon. To view, vote, or subscribe to this request, Go to Help>Submit Product Suggestion and type 'move patient' in the search box.
Open claims will not transfer over to the new account. Denticon advises the old account be accessed to pay off claims. The account# listed in the ledger is the Responsible Party #.
