The LED IC200 Intraoral Camera (distributed by LED Apteryx/LED Dental) is a true plug-and-play device.
To connect your LED IC200 camera to Apteryx XVWebCapture (XVCapture), you need to ensure the DirectVideo extension plug-in is installed so the software can communicate with standard Windows video devices
1. Check Windows 11 Privacy Settings
Before using the camera, you must ensure Windows allows desktop applications to access it.
-
Open Settings (press
Windows Key + I). - Navigate to Bluetooth & devices > Camera.
- Ensure Camera access is turned On.
- Scroll down to Let apps access your camera and toggle it On, making sure your dental imaging software is permitted to use the device
2. Verify in Device Manager
If the camera feed is completely black or the software cannot find the device, check if Windows recognizes it:
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Cameras or Imaging Devices section.
- You should see a listing for a generic USB camera or your specific dental camera. If it’s listed as an "Unknown Device" or has a warning symbol, trying to unplug it and plugging it into a different USB port on your computer will not work.
3. For the LED IC200 to be recognize by the Device Manager you will need to download and install the SOPRO Cameras Driver -Windows 10-2024 64 bit ( SOPRO CAMERA DRIVERS ) The SOPRO Camera is a USB2820 device as well as the LED IC200 IO Cam.
4. Fix Video Lag & Enable the Hardware Capture Button
To ensure the physical button on your LED IC200 takes a picture without freeze frames or lag, adjust these internal video options:
- With the live video feed active, click Video Options at the top.
- Select Still Pin and Other Video Sizes.
- Check the box for "I want to capture from the video pin" (or Still Pin).
- Under the Capture Buttons menu, select the EM2820 Chipset (this matches the internal chip of the LED IC series to route the button click correctly).
- Go to Video Options > Video Capture Pin and change the color compression drop-down from MPEG to YUY2. This removes the live feed delay.
- Click OK, take one test image, and hit Done to save these settings permanently
