Functional Steps for Migrating from Apteryx Online Capture to XVCapture
Prior to Go-Live

Stakeholder Communication
Notify all relevant parties (customer, internal teams, support) of the planned migration date and expected impact.

Review and Prepare XVCapture Environment
Identify current hardware being used with Apteryx Online Capture and confirm which XVCapture Extensions need to be installed to support the hardware.

Create or update a master XVCapture build for this location.
Ensure that XVCapture certificates have been added and DICOM Server configuration has been configured and is working.
Ensure INI has been updated with their XVCapture license
Install pre-configured XVCapture build on all required Capture Stations.

Run XVCapture as an administrator once
This is to make sure the registry keys required for installing hardware extensions and bridging are set up on the PC.

Data and Workflow Validation
Ensure all pending or failed images in Apteryx Online Capture have been forwarded.
Review and document any custom capture layouts or shortcuts in Apteryx Online Capture that need to be replicated or adjusted in XVCapture.

Uninstall Apteryx Online Capture (if required)
Quit Apteryx Online Capture Ambassador from the system tray or Task Manager.
Uninstall Apteryx Online Capture from Windows Control Panel.

Manually delete any remaining Apteryx Online Capture folders:
C:\PlanetDDSC:\ProgramData\PlanetDDSC:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Apteryx.Capture.
On the Day of or Night before Go-Live

Update System Configuration

At the location level, disable Apteryx Online Capture in the Location’s settings:

Remove Apteryx Online Capture buttons and shortcuts from the UI by clicking the username in the top-right corner>Settings>Location Settings and toggling Apteryx Online Capture Display to Off.
Ensure the Capture button now launches XVCapture.

Final XVCapture Validation
Launch XVCapture on each workstation and verify it opens correctly from the “Capture” button in the imaging software.
Perform test captures to confirm images are acquired, processed, and forwarded as expected.
Validate that all hardware (sensors, cameras, etc.) works as intended with XVCapture.

User Support and Training
Provide users with a quick refresher or documentation on the XVCapture workflow.
Be available for immediate support in case of issues during the transition.

Monitor and Troubleshoot
Monitor the site for any issues or user-reported problems.
Address any technical issues promptly, such as hardware compatibility or image forwarding errors.
Tip: Always notify your supervisor or a senior technician when making these changes, and update internal records to reflect the migration.
