ONLY FOR INTERNAL REFERENCE BY CONVERSION TECHNICIANS, DO NOT PROVIDE OUTSIDE THE ORGANIZATION
NOTE: During Dexis conversions, sometimes LogMeIn will disconnect or the session will be interrupted. This is specific to Dexis conversions and is not the fault of the client or the machine. Once the conversion is running and the Dexis images begin appear on screen, put the LogMeIn session on hold. Only have the session active momentarily when you are checking on the status of the conversion. This should mitigate any connections issues.
Default image path:
Dexis 9 will be a folder usually under DEXIS\DATA with a file xpat.dat. You can find the correct path by launching Dexis on the server and clicking the wrench icon. There is a "Comm" path that is specified, and that exists inside the correct DATA folder to specify in the converter.
Or just search the server for *.dex files to assist in fining the correct path.
FINAL CONVERSION ONLY
We need to do Rebuild Index in Dexis before starting the final conversion. We frequently get reports of missing patients, and it always seems to go back to the Dexis patient index being incomplete.
Steps: Open Dexis 9, click the gear icon:
Go to Administration tab, check Rebuild Index, then click Done.
You'll see numbers flickering in the Dexis search box. Once that is done, the conversion can start. This should ONLY be for final conversions.
Troubleshooting
For very slow servers, the DexConv.exe may try to export the image from DexView before it has fully loaded, causing the images to never export properly. Replace the DexConv.exe with this slower loading version. Make sure to rename the DexConv-slow-loading.exe to DexConv.exe. NOTE: It will only convert about 120 images per hour, so should only be used as a last resort for files that repeatedly fail to convert.
