ONLY FOR INTERNAL REFERENCE BY CONVERSION TECHNICIANS, DO NOT PROVIDE OUTSIDE THE ORGANIZATION
EagleSoft ODBC DSN setup
Credentials prior to version 18:
DSN Name: Dental
Server: EAGLESOFT (or IMAGING for standalone Patterson Imaging)
Database Name: DENTSERV (or DENTSERV2 for secondary database if there is a DATA2 folder)
Username: dba
Password: sql
Switch back to ODBC tab and try "Test Connection"
Credentials with version 18+
Starting with version 18 the converter should automatically use the Token Access to connect, but this may not always work. Double-click below to download this zip file and extract it on the customer's Eaglesoft server:
Try to get the credentials by running each EXE, and enter this info:
Name: Apteryx (case sensitive)
Token: 4c414570434a49001dd981d379cd9be3052105feb7c600fa2b05745f1f177f0e
Click the Try It button, and see if it returns the password for the DBA user:
NOTE: If these credentials do not work, try the old default credentials:
Username: dba
Password: sql
If that doesn't work, the customer will need to call Patterson to have their dba database password changed to a known value. (This can be done by going to Start Menu > Search for "Patterson Technical Reference" and then run that and access the DB Admin section.) They will need to contact Patterson to get access to this window.
You can also test connection through Windows by looking for the ODBC called "dental" or setting it up if it's not there. Old screenshots and instructions below:
Point cursor to SQL icon in the task bar and see what is the server name. Make sure to use server name in the ODBC DSN setup. The default is “EAGLESOFT”, as shown above. But it could be something else, e.g. “IMAGING”.
On the Network tab, select TCP/IP and type into the text box: host=IPADDRESS (replace IPADDRESS with the IP address of the Eaglesoft server)
Enable TCP/IP under the Network tab. Default settings for the rest.
Click “Test Connection” on the first tab and make sure it works.
Eaglesoft DB Path Eaglesoft\Data
Select Default ID if popup comes up after startup
The following error can show up when attempting to connect to ODBC. ODBC isn't ALWAYS needed. If this error appears, try running the converter without connecting to ODBC.
NOTE: EOPs are the images. ETP might be thumbnails or accessory files. They’re not images
Reports of “Extra” images in Apteryx that aren’t in Eaglesoft:
Patterson stores “ghosted” or “deleted” images in a Recycle Bin within their software. This DOES NOT remove the images from the individual patient folders.
