Registration Numbers:
Obtaining the client’s registration number is the #1 way to identify if a legacy imaging software is in use.
Locating Registration Numbers – Apteryx <- Customer-facing guides that can be sent to a client if needing them to locate their registration code for you in order to confirm the imaging software currently in use.
Apteryx Imaging registration numbers are always in the format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX, with the first 4 characters being the registration prefix. This prefix will always align with the application it was generated for, and is a surefire way to confirm if a user is using a legacy software, regardless of if it may be an OEM version or not. The rest of the code can be ignored.
The first character of the prefix determines the type of registration code as shown below:
First Digit |
Type |
Description |
|---|---|---|
9 |
Legacy |
Original prefix before others. Can be installed as primary or additional |
8 |
Primary |
Primary license (first code to activate with) |
B |
Additional |
Requires Primary to be installed into existing install |
D |
Subscription |
Standalone code that can be expired |
A |
Run time |
Runs as many times as set; typically for conversions only. |

Example: 8C75-685A-F222-9CA2-1039-B572
The prefix begins with 8, and the remaining 3 characters are C75. Using the charts above, this indicates this is a Primary XrayVision 4 registration code, and the client is looking for support for XrayVision 4.
Example: DC52-685A-D990-8741-1CDB-FEB6
The prefix begins with D, and the remaining 3 characters are C52. Using the charts above, this indicates this is a Subscription DataGrabber registration code, and the client is looking for support for DataGrabber.
