Sensor Not Detected
SynergyUpgrader should be available to test whether or not the PC sees the sensor and driver
Hit windows key and begin to type synergy. It should come up as an option
‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Schick Technologies\Shared Files\synergy_upgrade.exe’
This program will report driver and sensor status
If either are listed in red, refer them to schick for investigation
If all information appears to be correct (e.g., synergy upgrader can see the sensor, device manager shows sensor, permissions checked, etc.) but you are still seeing no hardware found error, see if the practice can switch out the sensor box as synergy can show everything is working when in reality it is not.
If SynergyUpgrader shows the sensor is recognized but XVCapture still can’t see it, try having the office switch sensor boxes and try again.
Additionally, you can try using Schick Test Capture software to take an image. If it fails as well, the issue is with Schick
Drivers could be locked by a Eaglesoft Imaging or Patterson Imaging registry key. See below section.
Eaglesoft/Patterson Imaging Locks Sensor Drivers
If the sensor works intermittently in XVCapture or Apteryx Online Capture, but whilst not working, the device works in Eaglesoft or Patterson Imaging, then it is most likely that simply launching Eaglesoft/Patterson caused the drivers to stay locked until you reboot the PC. The simplest thing to do is to disable the sensor in Eaglesoft/Patterson Imaging as they shouldn’t be using that with our software simultaneously.
This can be done by modifying the below registry key from 1 to 0. Changing it to 0 will break integration with Eaglesoft/Patterson Imaging but will prevent Eaglesoft from using and subsequently locking the drivers/sensors in their system.

This is a driver related problem as the Image Quality settings in the below screenshot are part of Schick’s drivers
You can verify this is an issue with the drivers by using the Schick Test Capture software linked below. If the Schick Test Capture interface crashes when enabling Fixed Enhancement, refer client to Dentsply Sirona to troubleshoot further.

Schick 33 sensor not detected by XVC/Test program when plugged into an AE interface
Download and install necessary firmware update from Schick’s website, found here: https://www.dentsplysironasupport.com/en-us/user_section/user_section_imaging/schick_brand_software.html (Schick USB 3.0 Interface Firmware v1.5 Update)
Once installed, sensor should become recognized within XVCapture and ready for an image without issue
