Denticon Integration Instructions
If the person is using Google Chrome, they’ll need to have the Denticon Bridge Service installed and running. To install it, go to the Help & Support section of the Help tab within Denticon, and click on “Denticon X-Ray Bridge Integration.”
You will also want to confirm that the registry key is set up in the right location.
**RUN DC_bridgekey64.reg inside the install folder** this will add the proper registry edits for the software to launch.
Running a .reg file as admin
Search for Registry Editor in Microsoft
Right click > Open File Location
Right Click existing shortcut > Send To > Desktop (create shortcut)
Right click the new desktop shortcut, click Properties
In the Shortcut tab, click Advanced
In the Advanced Properties popup, select: Run as administrator
"OK" your way back out.
Drag and drop the reg file onto the desktop shortcut
For 64-bit machines:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Apteryx\ApplicationLocations
For 32-bit machines:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apteryx\ApplicationLocations
The String value entry below will need to point to XrayVisionDCV.exe. Existing installs of XVCapture can have the executable copied and renamed to XrayVisionDCV.exe.
A feature request has been on hold for quite some time for the XVCapture exe to be supported as well so that renaming is not necessary, but this request has been stale for some time.
--
(*have also seen that using the path to the executable, and not specifying the executable itself, will allow the bridge to launch the program (see example below)*)
Ex:
If currently set to: \\0355NAS01\XV\XrayVisionDCV.exe
Update it to: \\0355NAS01\XV\Xray
--
Once the Denticon Bridge Service is fully installed, you’ll want to make sure that there is a tooth icon running in the task bar:
There will also be a shortcut on their desktop:
At this point, you should be able to bridge to DentirayCapture/XrayVision DCV successfully from Chrome. As a byproduct, you should also be able to bridge from Internet Explorer, provided that you accept the ActiveX prompts when making the attempt.

An error occurred. Reload this page to try again.
This can be due to the admin password not being changed from its temp password. Click the “Launch Apteryx in New Window” and have the practice go through the password change process. Update the password in the Denticon Apteryx bridge and refresh the page.
Denticon Bridge hangs at patient information screen:
This can happen for a variety of reasons. Things you will want to check are
1 . Denticon Bridge service: Ensure it is running and up to date. If you right click on the Denticon Bridge service and it has 3 options. It’s out of date. It’s also just a good idea to try updating it.
2 . Check the bridge button in Denticon if it’s pointed at the correct application.
3 . Ensure the registry keys and strings have correct syntax and are directed properly to XV Capture’s installation
4 . Ensure browser is up to date and browser cache is cleared.
5 . If none of the above fix the issue, you will also want to make certain which Windows Profile you are signed into. And that there are no other windows accounts currently signed in. If unsure; simply restart the computer and have the staff sign into their staff windows profile.
Denticon Bridge Service Installer prompting error:
This is a permissions issue on the folder C:\Windows\temp
Signing in as Local Administrator may work; but assigning full permissions to C:\Windows\temp will ensure no matter which Windows profile they are signed into; it will install.
