If needing to create similar copies of the same layout in Apteryx (ex. if needing to create multiple identical ortho layouts with different center logos), it is possible to duplicate the original layout you’d like to copy in order to prevent having to manually create each layout individually:
-
Navigate to Layouts > Edit and select the layout you would like to duplicate:
-
Export the layout:
-
Open the exported .JSON file with Notepad, then edit the “Name” : “LAYOUTNAME” field to match how you’d like the layout to be named in Apteryx. Then Save your changes:
-
Optional: Rename the exported .JSON’s filename to keep track of which file you’ve edited, if there are multiple
-
-
Import the edited .JSON into the client’s Apteryx site via Layouts > Edit:
-
Refresh the page, then navigate back to Layouts > Edit - your duplicated layout should now exist within Apteryx, and will be named what you had changed the “Name” : field to within the .JSON file earlier.
Now that the duplicated layout exists within Apteryx, it can be edited, changed, or saved and renamed within Apteryx’s Layouts > Edit tool as needed.
