As of February 2026, Apteryx has a bridge button that can be enabled for AI integration users that allows the user to bridge the currently viewed patient and series to their AI Vendor’s standalone application for viewing:
This bridge can be enabled at request for any client that is actively subscribed to one-way or two-way AI integration. This bridge replaces any unofficial AI vendor bridges that may have been in use within Denticon.
Enabling the AI Bridge button
-
Navigate to the client’s URL within Sites Dash, then go to Site Administration
-
Select AI Vendors
-
Check the box next to the location(s) you are enabling this bridge for, then select Change Vendors
IMPORTANT: Before clicking Change Vendors, make sure to take note of the location(s) current configuration, as you will need to set everything up exactly the same as it was before during this process (snipping tool works best for this).
-
For locations that have different AI configurations (different vendors, “show overlay results,” etc.), do them one at a time as to not accidentally incorrectly configure any locations.
-
Specify the Vendor Product, Enable the Modalities to be sent, and enable the AI Results checkboxes based on how the location had already been set up as mentioned in step 3a. Enable “Show AI Bridge Button” to enable the Apteryx bridge.
-
Click Confirm. The bridge will now be visible within Apteryx when viewing a patient’s record as long as the correct location is specified in the location drop-down.
Troubleshooting
AI Bridge Button Missing
The only thing the AI bridge button relies on to be both visible and functional is for “Show AI Bridge Button” to be “True” under the location’s AI Configuration within Sites Dash, and for the location to be enabled for AI.
If the AI Bridge button is not appearing in the left-hand toolbar when viewing images under a specific location, ensure that location has AI enabled for either one-way or two-way integration, and that “Show AI Bridge Button” is enabled (True).
Clicking the AI Bridge button opens a blank “about:blank” browser tab
This occurs when the AI Bridge button has never been used on a workstation yet, and the button is clicked without a series in view.
To resolve, click on a series of images from the left-hand preview panel to view them, then click the AI Bridge button.
