“Trying to start capture” and/or the Ambassador attempts to launch repeatedly with no success
The most common cause of this behavior is the browser not having the necessary permissions allowed. Enabling Local Access Permissions for Apteryx Online Capture - PlanetDDS - Internal Knowledge Base - Confluence should be referenced first to ensure all necessary permissions are allowed.
If this behavior persists after confirming all permissions are allowed, check to see if the cert (.pfx) had failed to automatically download to the correct folder - if the cert is missing, Apteryx Online Capture will fail to launch in the same way.
Steps below:
On the workstation where the issue occurs, navigate to \PlanetDDS\Apteryx Online Capture\AppCommonFiles\certs - if the cert already exists in this folder, this rules out a missing certificate as the cause of the issue.
If empty, go to the client’s Apteryx URL in Home Page - Apteryx Sites, then select Download Certificates
Extract the cert from the downloaded .zip folder and place it in \PlanetDDS\Apteryx Online Capture\AppCommonFiles\certs on the client’s workstation
Quit Apteryx Online Capture if it is still attempting to launch, and refresh the browser tab running Apteryx
Attempt to launch Apteryx Online Capture again
