Schick Elite/33 Sensors can be used in Apteryx Online Capture via CDR TWAIN using the TWAIN plugin. Image of TWAIN interface below:
Images won’t return without selecting “Accept” between each image
Enable Automatically Accept Image in the TWAIN interface.
CDR TWAIN Prompting to select an image between each acquisition
NOTE: This fix no longer works as of Apteryx TWAIN plugin 7.0.0, released 5/7/2025. For practice’s currently using CDR TWAIN in Apteryx Online Capture that are experiencing this issue, please transition them to IOSS drivers and utilize the Schick plugin instead.
If a client reports they have to acknowledge a prompt between each capture, or reference a “retake comparison” window appearing, this is due to the TWAIN interface prompting for image selection when more than one image is taken with the same TWAIN invocation open.
To resolve this:
Click username in top-right corner of Apteryx > Capture > Device Settings
Select the CDR TWAIN Acquisition option from the drop-down
-
Enable Continuous Capture and Automatically close TWAIN after each acquisition in the Device Settings
Click Save For All Devices
Repeat per workstation - Device Settings are stored per workstation rather than shared by the whole site
This will force the TWAIN to close between each image acquired, bypassing the “retake comparison” window and allowing the user to capture images without the need to acknowledge the retake comparison prompt that would come up otherwise.
Incorrect Image Orientation
Ensure the “Position” drop-down in the TWAIN interface is set to “Lower Right:”
-
Change “Wire side of the raw image” to “Right” in Device Settings:
