Worklists enable XVCapture 3.4 and rebrands to query from a 3rd party PACS server to retrieve information. These queries are "orders" that a Dr. or office prescribes for a particular patient. Ex: ABC Hospital needs John Doe to get a Pano captured. This entry is added to a worklist on the PACS side we query this worklist from the Capture menu and then complete the request.
The first and most important part is the DICOM communication. This can be difficult as we do not setup the connection parameters and have no way to verify their entered information other than a success or failure response when querying. You will create a new DICOM server (same as making a new Apteryx connection) with all of their personal information including IP/address, port, AE Title, security settings, naming, etc.. This will likely have to match exactly to the receiver or transmission will not proceed, the same as getting anything wrong when trying to ping an Apteryx server for forwarding. Be sure that Worklist is checked for the given worklist server
The second step is to add the ability to Query for Orders. This is in the middle of the Interface options shown below and will populate the Query button seen in the 2nd image. Again keep in mind this is a capturing function but you will also see the worklist DICOM definition show up under View options.
The practice can also set the server that images should be saved to. This can be Apteryx, their PACS, or both- using the following options under Forwarding, which will add the options seen in the 2nd image.
At this point everything is set for retrieving Worklist Orders. Inside of Data Entry the practice can define required fields for query (ID, last, first, etc…) or leave it generic.
