Testing with DataGrabber

Install and setup

  1. Download Install Folder. Unzip DataGrabber.

  2. Optional: Download and install Apteryx DGDLL (Launched App).

  3. Create a notepad file and save the filename as ‘Smith, John 987654321 12-03-1992.txt’ then open that notepad file.

  4. Run DG

  5. Right click DG > Customize > App. Sniffer Definitions > Continue

  6. New Definition

    DataGrabber_BC0VASZJMr.png

  7. Drag and drop the crosshairs onto the Notepad

  8. Next

  9. Add extraction format definition:

    DataGrabber_IF0vgFY7K2.png

    %l, %f %i %d.txt - Notepad

  10. Next > Test

  11. Expected result:

    DataGrabber_ULxS16WzSI.png

  12. Finish > OK

  13. If you setup Apteryx DGDLL do the following:

  1. Right click DG > Customize > Launched Apps > Continue

  2. Double click Apteryx definition

  3. Ensure definition is set: https://planetdds.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DIKB/pages/3430318301/DataGrabber#Apteryx-Not-Launching

Testing

  1. With Notepad open, left click DG

  2. Choose preferred launched application
