XVLite Trial Extensions
XVLite trials are limited to 3 PCs only. Because the software is very old and was sunset many years ago, we have no way to reset the licenses for this program and as such we are bound to the limitations of the trial which are at a maximum of 3 workstations until the customer can get upgrade to Apteryx.
All Group .auto files are showing as unrecognized file type OR says that dzips files are missing:
Check dzips and dunzips for masteion.
Check Anti-virus (MsMpEng.exe caused issue with locking files open in past) – set exclusion for folder path AND .auto file type.
If they are using Vipre antivirus, out of date software could be the culprit.
Images will not open on one machine but same image will open on the rest
Disable antivirus software and try again. (In XVLite, the problem manifests itself by showing the first image in the patient with a color pallet thumbnail.)
Make sure exclusions are set for the program/server path in AV if the issue is resolved.
XV - Program opens in task manager and then closes immediately:
Issue with one of the Microsoft files in the network directory on Win 8 and 10 machines.
Try copying mfc*.dll, msvcp*.dll, and msvcr*.dll out of Apteryx directory and back in, and the try relaunching.
Program Crashes when using NG but runs normally from shortcut
Manually open the software and check the patient directories to make sure there are no invalid characters in the patient/folder names.
Program will Open Patient Chart but hangs when attempting to open images
Check the main XVAssistant.CFG file for corruption and rebuild the "cpuname*XVAssistant.CFG

Exporting CTs
"Patient > Patient Utilities > Export > Check box to use special Rules and set folder path > Select the CT > Choose "Yes" for Single File - Multi Frame, or "No" for Multi file - Single Frame.
Cannot write WIP Folder
See if the path to the temp folder is using the "~" character due to the 8.3 aliasing convention. If it is, try creating the XVAWorkInProgress folder manually in the fully qualified temp directory name and see if the program then properly creates the WIP directories.

Resizing in XV4
Offices that upgrade to XV4 may report inability to resize/drag to move
The following files when pcname is entered will allow for drag to move/resizing
Labels not printing

Tools>options>Image Tab> Change storage format to JPEG (this is a global change, not per w/s)
Note: This will only affect future images

After placing labels, labels tab>merge>all labels
Images will now print but are in greyscale only.
Disabling Media Ready Prompts
Ensure a patient is open
Choose Capture Layout
Choose the grid layout
Select Capture Series
Choose Scanner/Image Capture, then hit OK
Uncheck the box at the bottom that says "Display 'media ready' prompts", and hit OK
Exit out using Quit and Done button
Deleting All Thumbnails
Use the following command in cmd to remove all thumbnails from a database

Document Templates Populating Incorrect Image(s)
issue: While using Document Templates - incorrect image is populated (wrong patient)
solution: add everyone permissions to office folder (typically C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office)
Convert to DICOM
We do not offer to convert XrayVision images to DICOM for any reason except upgrading to XVCapture/Apteryx.
