Summary: The Denticon Payment Portal gives patients a fast, simple way to pay their balance online — no username or password required. Once a payment is completed, it automatically posts to the Denticon ledger, improving the patient experience and shortening your cash conversion cycle.
The Payment Portal is included with a standard Denticon subscription and is available to offices using Open Edge, or PlanetDDS Pay merchant services.
The Patient Experience
Patients access the Payment Portal by visiting pay.yourdentistoffice.com — either from a link sent to them or from the Payment ID printed on their statement. The process is designed to be quick and friction-free:

Once on the portal, the matching record will display:
• Current balance (as of today)
• Amount due — the estimated patient portion as of today
• Available credit and debit card options to complete the payment
✅ Patient-Friendly: No account creation, username, or password is needed. Patients simply enter their Payment ID, zip code, and last name to access their record and pay.
Eligibility Requirements:
To enable and use the Payment Portal, your office must meet the following requirements:
• Active Denticon subscription
• Enrolled with one of the following merchant services:
– Open Edge
- PlanetDDS Pay
• Administrator-level access to complete configuration
Section 1: Configure Payment Portal Posting Settings
Administrators can control where payments made through the portal are posted and whether they are applied to the Responsible Party.

Options: • Responsible Party Home Office – posts to the office associated with the responsible party's record. • Current Session Office – posts to the office where the user was logged in when the payment portal link was sent, or the office where the payment portal ID prints on the statement. • [List of Offices] – select a specific office that is set up with credit card processing devices. |
| Post Payment to Responsible Party | Checked = Yes: Payment is posted to the Responsible Party. Unchecked = No: Payment is not posted to the Responsible Party. In most cases, this setting does not need to be changed from its default. |
📌 Note: In most cases, these settings do not need to be edited. The default configuration is appropriate for the majority of practices.
Section 2: Enable the Payment Portal on Patient Statements
Administrators can configure the Payment Portal to print on patient statements by default, making it easy for patients to find and use the portal when they receive their bill.
📍 Setup > Offices > Office Setup > [Statement Tab]
1. Navigate to Setup > Offices > Office Setup.
2. Select the [Statement Tab].
3. Check the box labeled "Print payment portal message on statements."
4. Click Save.
⚠️ Requirement: Each office must be enrolled with Open Edge, Denticon Pay, or PlanetDDS Pay before the Payment Portal can be enabled on statements.
Section 3: Manage Which Credit Cards Are Displayed to Patients
Administrators can specify which credit card types are visible to patients when they go to make a payment through the portal.
📍 Setup > Payment/Adjustment Type > Edit a Credit Card
1. Navigate to Setup > Payment/Adjustment Type.
2. Select and Edit the credit card type you want to configure.
3. Check or uncheck the box labeled "Show in Payment Portal".
4. Click Save.
Default behavior:
• All credit card types (except insurance) are checked (visible) by default.
• Uncheck any card type you do not want patients to see in the portal.
