- Ensure the patient has medical insurance attached to the patient record.
- Enter the procedure on the patient’s Treatment Plan screen:
o Click the “Transactions” menu and choose the “Treatment Plan” option , or
o Click the Treatment Plan Entry icon in the picture toolbar
- Click the All Medical category button to show the available medical codes. Double-click to select the desired medical procedure code. In the popup window, indicate the appropriate information for the code, if required, and click the Save button.
- Place a checkmark in the box(es) for the medical codes that are to be charged to the patient.
- Click the Post to Ledger button.
- On the Transaction Entry screen, click the Create Claim button.
- Click the date of the claim to access the Primary Dental Insurance Claim screen.
- Office-internal notes can be entered in the Claim Notes field.
- Claim narrative notes can be entered by clicking the Claim Fill-out Information button.
- Enter the narrative notes in the Remarks section. If necessary, complete the remaining fields in the Dental Insurance Fill-out Form.
- Click the Save button to return to the insurance claim screen.
To generate the claim which will place a Pri Claim line in the Account Ledger:
- To generate the claim to the medical e-claim section of the “Utilities / Batch Claims Processing” screen, click the Save button.
- To print a hard-copy of the claim, click the Direct Print button.
NOTE: Medical claims may be sent electronically only if the office requests activation via a Help Ticket. The medical e-claim activation process will talk approximately one (1) week.
