Note: When a patient is moved to a new account, the old account is marked as inactive. Also, the ledger history does not copy over to the new account. In this case, Denticon recommends adding a Flash Alert on both accounts for reference.
On the Inactive Patient it should say: This patient is INACTIVE. Information here is for reference only. For services rendered after the move date, please use the ACTIVE patient.
For the New Patient created it should say: For services rendered prior to mm/dd/yyyy please find inactivated patient by searching and including Inactive to reference prior history of services and claims.
When searching for the old account be sure to include inactive patients.

In some cases, where the balance transferred to the new account from Auto Adjustments, the office can click on the date next to the auto adjustments to delete so the balance is updated or reflects correctly. If deleting is not an option, on the new account a credit adjustment may be entered and the old account a debit adjustment.
