XVCapture
XVCapture is a locally installed DICOM compliant application used to capture images and forward them to a DICOM server, which in most cases is the user's Apteryx site.
In a typical, recommended environment, XVCapture is installed locally on each workstation and configured to purge local images files after they have been successfully forwarded to Apteryx. Additionally, XVCapture's primary function is to capture images, however basic image viewing and manipulation is possible through XVCapture as well when needed.
Depending on the Practice Management software in use, XVCapture is accessed via integrated bridge, DataGrabber, from Apteryx via interop, or as a standalone application.

Apteryx
Apteryx is a browser-based DICOM compliant web application accessed via URL that is used to view, manipulate, import/export, share, compare, and edit patient images that have been captured via XVCapture or Apteryx Online Capture. Apteryx is accessed within a browser via URL and does not have a standalone application.
Apteryx utilizes a cloud-based DICOM server for image storage and is able to query patient records and images from the cloud at any time as long as the workstation accessing Apteryx is connected to the internet.
Depending on the Practice Management software in use, Apteryx is accessed via direct integration, integrated bridge, DataGrabber, or by navigating to the practice's Apteryx URL directly.

Apteryx Online Capture
Apteryx Online Capture is a locally installed DICOM compliant application that is accessed directly via Apteryx. Apteryx Online Capture is used to capture images directly into a client's Apteryx site, removing the need for the user to access a separate application (XVCapture) when needing to capture images into a patient's record.
Although Apteryx Online Capture is a locally installed application, it can only be accessed within Apteryx and not as a standalone application.
Currently, Apteryx Online Capture's only function is to capture images directly within Apteryx.
