When utilizing a native bridging integration to launch XVCapture and automatically populate the patient's information, in some cases XVCapture will pull in the incorrect ID number, causing a duplicate record to be created.
This typically occurs if two "ID" numbers are being passed by the bridge, such as SSN and internal ID, or if the Practice Management software allows for multiple ID numbers to be associated with one patient.
If you find the ID number populated in XVCapture immediately after bridging a patient is incorrect/does not match the ID number of the patient's record in your Practice Management software, follow the below steps:
Launch XVCapture and select Advanced User Tools > Preferences (Password is AKRON)
Select Data Entry from the left-hand toolbar
Scroll down to the Command Line Support sub-section
Locate the setting labeled When bridging two ID numbers, the Primary ID number takes precedence as the primary patient ID. If currently checked, uncheck it. If it is already unchecked, then check it.
- Click OK to return to XVCapture' home page
Bridge a patient to XVCapture from your Practice Management software, then select View Images - confirm the ID number populated in the Patient ID field under Query Specification matches the patient ID of the patient's record in your Practice Management software.
If the ID number is confirmed to be correct in step 6, XVCapture will utilize the correct ID number for all patients moving forward, and the above steps can be repeated per workstation/installation of XVCapture.
