Overview
A New Patient Appointment refers to an appointment scheduled in the Scheduler that has not yet been linked to a patient record in Denticon.
These appointments are commonly used when scheduling a new patient before all required demographic and account information has been entered into the system.
What Is a Patient Record?
A patient record is considered complete when the patient's information has been entered into Denticon, including:
- Patient name
- Patient contact information:
- Address
- Phone number(s)
- Email address
- Date of birth
- Responsible party name
- Responsible party contact information:
- Address
- Phone number(s)
- Email address
- Date of birth
- Insurance plan information (if applicable)
- Medical history information (if applicable)
- Recall information (if applicable)
Once a patient record has been created and linked to the appointment, the appointment will no longer be identified as a New Patient appointment.
How to Identify a New Patient Appointment
New Patient appointments are easy to recognize.
Visual Indicator
A red "N" inside a white box appears in the upper-left corner of the appointment.
This indicator signifies that the appointment is not currently associated with a patient record.
Appointment Details Tooltip
When you hover your mouse over the appointment, a Details box will appear.
