Within the letter/document template, Denticon allows to incorporate:
- Mergeable fields, via the “Data” button
- Question prompts, via the “Add Question” button
To incorporate a question prompt:
- Click the word “Reports”
- Select the “Custom” and “Custom Letters” options from the dropdown list
- Select the letter/document
- Click the Edit button
- Utilize the "Add Question" button to incorporate a question prompt at the desired location in the document (the question prompt will appear in the document template, bookended with @@ symbols)
- Save
Now, when generating the document in the patient's record via Print/letters, the document will prompt the user for patient-specific information, and will quickly incorporate the information into the final document.
NOTE: In order for the question prompt to work correctly, two (2) @ signs must be at each end of the question prompt. If only one @ sign is incorporated into the letter template, the question prompt feature will return undesired results: no question information will be incorporated into the letter.
Per Denticon’s “July 5, 2012 Build Release Notes” which may be accessed via Help / Release Notes:
Form Letters. Similar to the changes to the progress notes on the last build, form letters may now have questions and answers section(s). These are meant for a single patient letter where some of the body of the letter may vary by patient and / or situation.
Questions may be inserted into a letter in the Reports > Custom > Custom Letter. Then when this letter is selected to be printed for a patient, the user is given a chance to add specific information for this patient and the letter merges that information for you to print.
