When entering the patient, select the “Primary Dental” box if the patient has only one dental insurance plan. Select the “Secondary Dental” box if the patient has two dental insurance plans. If “Secondary” is selected, the “Primary Dental” box will be auto-selected at the same time.
On the Primary Dental Insurance screens, the appropriate insurance plan will be selected for attachment to the patient. If Secondary has also been indicated, the opportunity to attach the Secondary dental insurance will become the next step in the patient setup.
Based on the parameter stated in the “Search For” field, type the first word of the desired search text in the “Search Text” field (a minimum of two characters must be entered, without spaces). The “Search In” field should read “All Insurance Plans.” Click the Search button. A listing of matches for the search parameters is returned in a pop-up box. Select the desired plan. The Carrier, Employer, and Plan Information fields will be auto-populated according to the saved plan information (Setup–Insurance–Insurance Plans).
Confirm the Subscriber Information, and indicate the “Patient Relationship to Subscriber.” Click the Save button.
